The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on Peter Parker’s Spider-Man has been wildly popular, but one key era for the web crawler that’s missing from Disney’s franchise is his earliest days as Spider-Man. Sure, we saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker briefly run around in a homemade suit and goggles in Captain America: Civil War, but we never saw the transformation of Peter from a glasses-wearing wallflower to a… regular wallflower without an eyeglass prescription. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man looks to fill in those gaps.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a new animated show featuring Peter Parker, and will premiere on Disney+ on January 29, 2025. That’s a few weeks before Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters.

In the past, Marvel Studios has used the post-holiday season lull of January to launch new shows on Disney+. The first episode of the MCU show, WandaVision, released in January of 2021, while just last year, Echo dropped during the same month. January is often the quietest month of the year in terms of theatrical releases from Hollywood studios, making it an ideal time for a streaming show like Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to find its footing.

Anticipation for the next slate of releases from Marvel Studios and Marvel Animation has ramped ever since the studio released a “Look Ahead” video on YouTube, showcasing footage from their 2025 releases. Among the projects featured were Wonder Man, Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, What If…? season 3, Marvel Zombies, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. There’s certainly lots of variety in Marvel’s 2025 slate, appealing to a range of age brackets.
