Pedro Pascal, The Muppets' Beaker, and more: The Firefly and Serenity stars give their casting choices for a hypothetical reboot

Who would you cast in a Firefly and Serenity reboot? The original cast reveal their choices

Is a Firefly reboot inevitable? We all know Hollywood loves rebooting franchises, and Firefly remains popular. Of course, the original cast is still out there, ready and available to work.

While there’s no Firefly or Serenity reboot in the works, the original cast were recently asked who they would like to play their characters in a hypothetical reboot. “Pedro Pascal,” Nathan Fillion says. “I would like Timothee Chalamet,” Summer Glau jokes. “Alan Alda,” Alan Tudyk says.

Thinking outside the box, Sean Maher picked a Muppet. “Beaker. Not Zac Efron,” Maher says. Maher then conceded that Dylan Efron, Zac’s younger brother, would be acceptable.

On the other hand, Gina Torres made it clear that Zoe Washburne was hers, and she would be participating in any reboot, even if it was just a thought exercise. “I’m definitely coming back. I’m not done.”

I’m personally interested to see how Timothee Chalamet would do as River Tam. Especially if he’s sharing scenes with a Muppet.
