Dope Thief release date: Brian Tyree Henry stars in Apple TV's new crime drama produced by Ridley Scott

If you haven't been paying close attention to Brian Tyree Henry's career, it's time to lock in. The actor is the star and an executive producer of Apple TV's upcoming crime drama, Dope Thief. The show will consist of 8 episodes. Henry is joined by fellow executive producers Peter Craig (The Batman and Top Gun: Maverick) and Ridley Scott, who directed the first episode of the show.
Dope Thief is set to begin streaming on Apple TV on March 14, 2025, when the first two episodes of the show drop. From then on, until April 25, new episodes will be released on Fridays.
Dope Thief is based off of Dennis Tafoya's novel of the same title, and it tells the story of two friends in Philadelphia who pose as DEA agents as they ransack an isolated home. However, in doing so, the two stumble upon a massive network of narcotics trafficking that stretches across the eastern coast of the United States.
In addition to Brian Tyree Henry, Dope Thief's cast features Ving Rhames, Wagner Moura (Narcos), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Prodigy), Nesta Cooper (See), and Amir Arison (The Blacklist).
Dope Thief will begin streaming on Apple TV on March 14, 2025.
