Peacemaker's dad Robert Patrick talks about his character's surprise return from the dead for Max season 2

Robert Patrick will return to play Auggie Smith in Peacemaker season 2. Wait, didn’t he die?

Do you really wanna taste it? DC’s Peacemaker is currently prepping its second season, continuing the adventures of John Cena’s violent anti-hero. Details are scarce about the upcoming second season, but it sounds like the White Dragon will return….in some shape or form.

During a spotlight panel at Tampa Bay Comic Con, Robert Patrick casually revealed that he had just done some filming for Peacemaker season. “I was with John [Cena] on Friday. We’re filming season 2,” Patrick revealed. This is in line with an Instagram story that DC Studios co-president James Gunn posted on Friday, indicating that he had just filmed he a scene with Patrick and Cena.

At another point in the panel, Patrick praised Gunn. “I was just working with James Gunn on Friday. James is amazing. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve met in my life. Incredible mind and just a wonderful human being. I love him and his wife Jennifer Holland. We were doing a big scene for the second season of Peacemaker on Friday right before I came here.”

This does raise some questions. Some of you might remember that Patrick’s character Auggie Smith (aka the White Dragon) was shot in the head during season 1. How is he back for season 2? It’s possible that Auggie’s appearance is a dream or a flashback. However, the most likely scenario is that Auggie is a ghost or hallucination haunting Peacemaker. Fans of the 1988 Peacemaker comic book mini-series might remember that Peacemaker frequently hallucinated and saw his father’s ghost.

Peacemaker season 2 will premiere on Max in 2025.
