The show is already one of our favorites of the year and it isn't even out yet.

We are simply buzzing with excitement for DAN DA DAN when it comes to Crunchyroll and Netflix later this year. The weird concept and high-energy visuals we’ve seen in the trailers almost guarantee that it is going to lodge itself in our brains from the first episode. While some episodes have already leaked online, we’re waiting until DAN DA DAN’s release date officially comes around before we check out this supernatural sci-fi anime.

Aside from tracking down the leaked episodes of the anime, there is one way to catch all the frantic energy of DAN DA DAN before the series begins streaming. Fans can catch the first three episodes, bundled as DAN DA DAN: First Encounter, in theaters. When you can see the intense visuals of DAN DA DAN on the big screen depends on where you live but DAN DA DAN will debut in US and UK cinemas on September 13, 2024.

What about the rest of the series? Both Netflix and Crunchyroll have streaming rights to the DAN DA DAN series, which is set to release in October 2024. Which streaming service gets DAN DA DAN first will probably depend on where you live, but we expect Crunchyroll to get the week-to-week release rights with Netflix streaming the full season later in the year.

DAN DA DAN follows two high school students with differing points of view. Ayase believes in ghosts but not aliens, while Takakura believes in aliens but not ghosts. After trying to prove each other wrong, Ayase gets psychic powers from aliens and Takakura gets possessed by a ghost. Together, the pair fight aliens and the supernatural.

DAN DA DAN: First Encounters is coming to cinemas in the UK and the US on September 13, 2024, while the full season will begin streaming in October 2024.
