When you spend a decade playing games with your friends, you’re bound to have a few memorable moments. Critical Role premiered in 2015, giving audiences a taste of the fun that comes with tabletop RPG. Since then, we’ve had plenty of interesting characters, exciting campaigns, fun improvisation, and lots of madness.
When asked which moments they would like to relive, the Critical Role cast grew sentimental. “I mean, all of them," Sam Riegel says during a Critical Role spotlight panel at Emerald City Comic Con 2026. “It was so great to experience all of them the first time through, but I think campaign two for me just because there’s much world building lore that I didn’t pay attention to the first time around, but now I know how cool it is after campaign three. I would have paid more attention to it that time.”
“I’m going to go with some of our very first games,” Ashley Johnson says. “I know that those were just for us, but I think just being able to revisit those moments. We just didn’t know what this was going to turn into, which is really cool. And it was just in Matt and Marisha’s apartment, and then Travis and Laura’s house, and just the best.”
“My answer is the final game of campaign one,” Liam O’Brien says. This shocked his castmates since that was a particularly heartbreaking ending, but Liam made his case. “It was so beautiful and so much real emotion and it just hammered home to me how much all of you mean to me. To how you love with all of your emotions, and how special this circle is and what we get to do and there’s nothing like it. Yeah, it hurt, but it felt alive.”
“I would say campaign one as well, because I feel like we were all like little babies and discovering the ability to have romance in a game for the first time was just so wonderful,” Laura Bailey says. “I would make Chetney’s death threshold lower. Just lower like a five,” Travis Willingham says.
“Definitely Honey Heist. I get to relive you doing your first game,” Matthew Mercer says as he looks over at Marisha Ray.
Having so many great memories with your friends is a wonderful thing. The fact that they’ve been caught on camera to relive over and over again makes it even more special. We can’t go back in time, but we can rewatch these campaigns and smile at all the genuine love and affection from every moment.
