Here’s the release date for DC Studios’ Creature Commandos on Max

Can’t get enough DC Studios animation? Then we’ve got some good news for you.

Fans of superhero animation rejoice: you can now put the release date for DC Studios’ Creature Commandos on your calendar. The seven-episode adult animated series is arriving to stream on Max sooner than you might expect. Here’s what we know about the exceedingly exciting project from DC Studios that’s just around the corner.

According to the official logline, Creature Commandos follows a top-secret team of incarcerated monsters who must undertake missions deemed too dangerous for humans. Described as “your last, worst option,” it's possible this team just might make the Suicide Squad look heroic.

While there’s lots to be excited about regarding the series, one fact seems especially notable. All seven episodes were written and executive produced by DC Studios co-president James Gunn.

That’s not the only exciting aspect of Creature Commandos, either. In keeping with the promise that all DC Studios projects would boast a unified continuity, several of the cast members and characters will be familiar to fans from their previous appearances.

Here are the all-star cast members you can expect to hear deliver stellar voiceover performances in Creature Commandos:

  • Steve Agee as Economos
  • Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana
  • Anya Chalotra as Circe
  • Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky
  • Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.
  • Sean Gunn as GI Robot & Weasel
  • David Harbour as Frankenstein
  • Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus
  • Indira Varma as The Bride
  • Viola Davis as Amanda Waller

The first episode of Creature Commandos will debut for streaming on Max on December 5. 2024. New episodes will continue to be released weekly through January 16. Will you be streaming the Max Original series when it arrives this winter?
