It's always a delight, isn't it, to learn which stars knew each other before they were famous? At New York Comic Con 2023, Chris Evans fans got one of those tidbits of trivia from the Captain America actor himself, as he talked about his experience performing Shakespeare. That is, performing Shakespeare in high school, who he attended with...
"Jeremy Strong," Evans told Popverse's own senior video producer, Veronica Valencia.
Strong is best known to the streaming world as Kendall Roy, the would-be heir to a billion-dollar conglomerate in HBO's Succession. Strong is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner, and according to former classmate Evans, he's always had the chops for it.
"I went to high school with Jeremy Strong," Evans explained, "I don't know if anyone knows that. And we both did a lot of Shakespeare shows together as, as teenagers. He was phenomenal, and I was just trying to keep up."
Strong has continued his work on stage, appearing on Broadway most recently in a revival of Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People alongside The Sopranos' Michael Imperioli. Evans, meanwhile, has not appeared on stage as much but, as discussed in his panel, would like to at some point.
Just saying, guys, we'd all attend that high school reunion.
