Bryce Dallas Howard reveals how much Hunter x Hunter is a part of her family's life

In the Pop Spot at New York Comic Con 2025, Popverse’s Ashley V. Robinson got the chance to sit down with actor and director Bryce Dallas Howard. You will recognize Howard from her performances in movies like Lady in the Water and the Jurassic World franchise, and/or her work directing episodes of the Star Wars Disney+ shows. Among the many varied details she shared was the fact that her family is currently rewatching the beloved anime Hunter x Hunter.
The detail came up when Robinson asked Howard a NYCC ’25-inspired question: what she had been geeking out about that she wasn’t working on. Howard shared several things she was personally interested in, including the documentaries of Stacey Dooley. She continued, “I love to watch women building things in the woods, and a time-lapse of that.”
But then she revealed: “My family last night, they were watching Hunter x Hunter.” After Robinson and Howard agreed Hunter x Hunter is great, Howard said, “It’s the second pass-through. It was actually really sweet. It was my husband’s birthday, and my daughter made him a bunch of coupons. And one of the coupons was that he could watch any anime show of his choice with her.”
Howard continued, “And he was like, ‘I want to watch Hunter x Hunter again.’ She was like, ‘OK dad.’”
