Joining a show like Bridgerton, which has become one of Netflix’s most popular shows, can be daunting. For most actors, the impact that it would have on their career would be massive, but one of the stars of Bridgerton Season 4 isn’t letting all that pressure go to her head. Instead, Phoebe’s actor, Yerin Ha, is trying to keep her feet firmly on the ground even as the life-changing role comes to life this month.
During an interview with InStyle, Yerin Ha discussed the potential impact that playing Phoebe in Bridgerton might have on her career. She takes the spotlight in Bridgerton Season 4 as the counterpart to the long-awaited Benedict storyline, but she isn’t ready to say that joining the Netflix show is everything people expect it to be. “I’ve been on a job previously where they’ve told me, ‘Oh, your life’s going to change.’ And it didn’t,” Yerin Ha explained. “And I think that’s why my expectations are so low… Maybe some parts of my career have made me a little bit cynical, but maybe that’s also a way to have protected myself and not get hurt again. I’m a little bit [of an] I’ll believe it when I see it kind-of-girl.”
Ha is excited for fans to see her as Phoebe when the Bridgerton Season 4 release date rolls around, but she wants everyone to judge her after they’ve seen her performance – not before. “Bridgerton fans were sending me letters and giving me gifts already,” Ha said of her encounters with fans during her run on London’s West End. “It was beautiful, but I was like, ‘Oh my God, you haven’t seen my work yet!’”
Yerin Ha joins the cast of Bridgerton when Season 4 arrives on Netflix January 29, 2026.
