Bob Odenkirk doubts there'll be a Better Call Saul revival, but if there is, "it takes place inside prison"
"Saul but in prison" is a great pitch and we'll be sad if no one picks it up.

Some people say that if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime. Well, Saul Goodman committed plenty of crimes across both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and Bob Odenkirk is expecting him to do the time to match. According to the actor, Saul isn’t getting out of the lengthy prison sentence that was handed down at the end of Better Call Saul – though he doesn’t rule out the possibility of reprising his role.
During a recent interview, Bob Odenkirk explained that he still had a lot of love for Saul Goodman and the team that created him. “That part turned my life around, and I’ve given more to that part than anything I’ve done. Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould created that show. They are some of the best writers who ever worked in TV. So, if they were to think of something in that world, of course, I would do it. But I don’t think so. I think they’ve all moved on to some more amazing projects that you’ll soon see.”
There is a sticking point for a potential Better Call Saul revival – the ending of the show. In the final episode back in 2022, Saul Goodman finally fesses up to his lifetime of criminal activity and ends up with a lengthy prison sentence. 86 years, to be specific. According to Odenkirk, that shouldn’t be ignored in any potential future for the character. “He’s not getting out [of prison]. If there’s another Saul show, it takes place inside prison.”
Now, we know that Bob Odenkirk has just said that a future sequel to Better Call Saul isn’t likely, but that is actually a great pitch for a show. Saul being in prison, trying to atone for his many mistakes in an environment where he is constantly tempted to be the worst version of himself, would make for great television, and we’re a little upset that it probably won’t ever happen.
