True Blood star Stephen Moyer has found a new haunt - art crime.
Moyer has been announced to star in a fine art crime drama called Art Detectives. The show, which AMC Networks are producing, will star the one-time vampire as an art-loving UK police detective named Mick Palmer, who - with Nina Singh as DC Shazia Malik, will solve murders in the art world with connections to everything from Renaissance paintings to Banksy street art, and even collectible vinyl (and we hope, collectible comics!).
"I’m very excited to bring the slightly quirky Mick Palmer to life in this wonderfully creative detective series," Moyer says in the press release. "The writing team on Art Detectives have done a great job of cleverly weaving together intriguing storylines, notable pieces of art and a bit of history thrown in for good measure."
Also in the case is Sarah Alexander as museum curator Rosa, and the father of Moyer's lead - Ron (aka EastEnders' Larry Lamb).
Although being produced by AMC, Art Detectives will be exclusive to its European-themed streaming platform Acorn TV in the US - and will be filmed in Belfast, Ireland (and the surrounding countryside).
Art Detectives season 1 is announced to debut sometime in 2025 on the streaming platform Acorn TV.
