When you write for a show like Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, you sometimes find yourself pondering some of life’s unanswered questions. The AMC gothic horror series gives us a more…sensual…look at vampires, and without any frame of reference, the writers have to figure out things that people may have never thought about before. For instance, when a vampire gets too excited, do they need to change their pants?
“What’s it like being in charge? It’s like this, you get questions from the costume department that are like, ‘Does vampire ejaculate go through leather,’” Interview with the Vampire writer and producer Hannah Moscovitch tells Popverse’s Ashley Victoria Robinson during a New York Comic Con interview. “And then I don’t know. You think about it for a moment, and you wonder if you can respect yourself. And then you answer, ‘Yes, it does.’ That’s what it’s like.”
And now we know something about vampires that we didn’t know before.
