Prime Video's Invincible season 4 will include "a few bits" not from the comics, and co-creator Robert Kirkman is excited about it
Robert Kirkman says the Invincible animated series won’t deviate far from the original comic book (even if they add new things)

If you’ve read the Invincible comics, then you’ve probably noticed that the Amazon Prime Video animated series has taken a few liberties. Some events happen out of order, and some events are changed entirely. For example, in the comics Mark’s visit to Atlantis involves an arranged marriage, but in the show it’s for a kaiju fight. Characters like Debbie Grayson and Donald are given new storylines and more character depth.
Invincible creator Robert Kirkman says that season four will continue that tradition by bringing in new elements, but the overall storyline won’t stray far from the comics.
“We may weave some new things here and there,” Kirkman says during a panel at New York Comic Con. “There might be a few bits in season four that are not from the comic that I’m very excited about, but for the most part, a lot of the big stuff that you guys are fans of the comics, that you’re really dying to get into the show, they’re going to get into the show.”
“It’s really important to me for Invincible to take the approach of if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. If it seems like it’s working in the comics, I want to make sure that we support it and help it live on the screen, instead of changing it in some way.”
Invincible season 4 premieres March 2026 on Amazon Prime Video.
