Agatha All Along's first trailer fulfills a forgotten WandaVision tease and debuts just what 'Marvel Scary' actually looks like

Perfect for its spooky season release of September 18 on Disney+

Recently, Popverse told you Brad Winderbaum's thoughts on upcoming Disney+ series Agatha All Along. The head of streaming, television and animation at Marvel Studios called the WandaVision spinoff "really scary," and even "a Halloween show," but fans had to take him at his word... until now.

The first Agatha All Along trailer is here, and to Winderbaum's credit, it feels tremendously horror-leaning. Watch for yourself to see what we mean.

Even if you don't count the use of very spooky Florence and the Machine song Seven Devils as the backing track, there's a lot for connoisseurs of the creepy to love about this trailer. Examples inlcude the decrepit, rotting corpse of Wanda Maximoff that starts the trailer, that red-lit screaming monstrosity at the 1:12 mark, and the Exorcist-esque crawling case of possession at the end.

Now, we shouldn't be entirely surprised that Agatha All Along is hitting the gas on the grotesque. Long before Winderbaum's comments on the upcoming series, one of the most disturbing moments of WandaVision came from an Agatha Harkness flashback, when we saw her persecuted for witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials.

You could look at that segment as almost a cold-open for a horror movie - the moment a terrible wrong is committed, and a monstrous revenge is promised. If so, then Agatha All Along is the culmination of that curse, out to haunt the residents of the MCU... and maybe spook a few people in our universe as well.

Agatha All Along scares up a two-episode debut September 18 on Disney+.

Consider this a meta post-credits scene for Marvel fans - the four key articles you need to read next to continue the thrills:
