Mandalorian Season 3: Everything we know about the upcoming Star Wars show on Disney+
This is the (first) trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 on Disney+
Din Djarin and Grogu are back in the popular Disney+ show The Mandalorian. It's been two years since the end of season 2, and fans have been clamoring for more of the duo since their appearance in The Book of Boba Fett season 1. The stakes are higher than ever for Din, as well as Grogu. The two have been reunited, and are heading to Din’s spiritual homeworld, Mandalore.
This highly anticipated season has a lot to explore. Will Din become the leader of Mandalore? Will Grogu become the second Jedi Mandalorian? There are endless possibilities with where this season will take us, and as Madnalorians say, this is the way.
The Mandalorian season 3 plot
The Mandalorian season 3 takes place after the events of The Book of Boba Fett season 1. Grogu and Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian are reunited, after Grogu leaves his Jedi training behind. The duo is on a course for Mandalore so Din can repent for removing his helmet to show his face – a sin for Mandalorians. Only then will Din be reinstated as a Mandalorian – or is it? Din also possesses the Darksaber. Originally created by Tarre Vizsla, who was the first Mandalorian to join the Jedi Order, possession of the legendary saber makes you the leader of the Mandalorians.
Not everyone is happy that Din holds the Darksaber, and it will likely lead to further conflict between the titular Mandalorian, Moff Gideon, and possibly Bo-Katan. As of now, Disney is keeping the plot a secret.

The Mandalorian season 3 trailer:
On February 16 the trailer aired during a Monday Night Football halftime show. The thrilling trailer starts with a voiceover from Din who asks himself “Our people are scattered like stars in the galaxy. Who are we? What do we stand for?”. The trailer teases at more Mandalorians joining the show, as well as several Jedi – though it is possible this could be a flashback scene.
The Mandalorian season 3 cast:
Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, Wonder Woman 84) returns as Din Djarin, also known as the Mandalorian. Pascal has been playing the Mandalorian since season 1 aired in 2019. He reprised his role in season 2, as well as The Book of Boba Fett.
Returning cast includes Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Boys) as Moff Gideon, a leader of the currently fallen Galactic Empire, who is out to get both Grogu and Din – who won the Darksaber in combat, and Moff has his sights on it. Gideon has been an antagonist since season 1, and we are likely to see him play a major role in season 3. Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Oculus) is also set to return as Bo-Katan Kryze. Bo-Katan possessed the Darksaber but had lost it in The Great Purge of Mandalore. While she is not an antagonist, it is possible that Bo-Katan has her eyes on the Darksaber as well.
Also returning is Carl Weathers (Predator, Rocky) as Greef Karga, Omid Abtadhi (Fear the Walking Dead, American Gods) as Dr. Pershing, and Amy Serdaris (Strangers With Candy, Elf) as fan favorite Peli Motto.
