She-Hulk: Marvel Studios hopes you'll like her art book even if it's almost two years after the show

Marvel delays the She-Hulk art book so much that retailers get it risk-free

Did you enjoy Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law? So did we, for many reasons - including, but not limited to, the usage of actual comic book artists in this TV show based on comics.

While using comic art in a comic adaptation isn't unheard of, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's credits scenes featured new art by comic artists such as Kagan McLeod. We paused almost all of the stills to enjoy them and were excited to see them in the upcoming artbook Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law - The Art of the Series.

While the She-Hulk art book wasn't announced until a full year after the first season ended, we were looking forward to its February 2024 debut. This weekend we learned that we'll have to wait even longer.

Marvel Comics has informed retailers that Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law - The Art of the Series has been delayed four months to a June 19, 2024 release date. Delays aren't unheard of in book publishing - and Marvel Studios' 'art of' books have a history for often being delayed. But for this She-Hulk art book, it's been delayed so much that Marvel is required by its agreement with comic and bookstores to make the book fully returnable - as in, if you don't sell it, retailers can return it and get their money back.

This "measurable OSD date change" rule is a rarely used rule in Marvel publishing, but was put into effect as part of the publisher's agreement with retailers through its distributor, Penguin Random House. Why? Marvel required retailers to decide its order numbers for Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law - The Art of the Series back in September 2023 - nine months from when they can now expect to receive the book. Which is quite a while longer than what was originally planned.

That being said, when She-Hulk: Attorney at Law - The Art of the Series is actually in our hands, we look forward to seeing the art behind the show - including alternate designs for Tatiana Maslany's titular character and designs for unused characters such as the Marvel villain Bushwacker.

Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law - The Art of the Series is now set for release June 19, 2024.
