NYCC: Marvel Comics announces Summer of the Symbiotes event
Venom, Carnage, Red Goblin and more symbiotes will be featured in a wild summer event called Summer of the Symbiotes
New York City Comic-Con is in full swing, which means lots of comic news and announcements. During the Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing panel, editor Nick Lowe teased Marvel’s upcoming publishing slate, which included a Venom-centric event called Summer of Symbiotes. “As you know, our Venom book is one of the biggest books we’ve got,” Lowe began. “It is one of our highest selling books followed closely behind by another symbiote book Carnage. Any Carnage fans out there? And now they are joined by a third symbiote book with Red Goblin, and it’s all building to this – the Summer of Symbiotes.”
“We’re building the biggest Venom mishegoss that you’ve ever even heard about,” Lowe continued. “It is going to be so crazy, it’s all about the stuff that’s happening in those books and then some. They’ll be new character, there will be old characters you haven’t seen in a while. It is mind-bending, and just start getting ready. Because you need to get ready or you might go crazy, it’s just so good.”
The event will run through the symbiote titles Venom, Carnage, and Red Goblin this summer. Stay tuned to Popverse for more news and updates as New York City Comic-Con continues.
