It's the debate heard around the dinner table. It's the face-off fought over in the comic cons. It's Star Wars vs. Star Trek. For nearly 50 years, the fan debate on which sci-fi franchise is better has raged, and at Seattle's Emerald City Comic Con 2025 we goaded two creators to fight it out to decide. That's right, Popversus pitted a Star Wars creator versus a Star Trek creator with us and the fans left to decide the winner.
In the Star Wars corner, we have prolific author John Jackson Miller, who has penned the definitive Obi-Wan Kenobi book, Star Wars: Kenobi, and the recent Star Wars: The Living Force. He also wrote over 50 issues of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comic, as well as loads more comics and short stories.
And in the Star Trek corner, we have comic artist Joe Eisma, a well-known Star Trek fan in comic con circles who drew the recent Star Trek: Holo-Ween series. He also drew a portion of the recent 400th issue of the Star Trek comic.
