Colin Farrell has read The Batman Part II - but that doesn't mean it's all about The Penguin
While Colin Farrell confirmed he'll be in Matt Reeves's The Batman: Part II, the actor emphasized that the sequel film won't be Oz's show to run

I know I'm saying "Water is wet" when I say that HBO's Penguin series from Lauren LeFranc was a thing of wonder, but the series really was a staggering feat of storytelling. The idea that we got a nuanced deep dive into the psychology of a Batman villain - The Penguin, no less - with HBO resources is still mindblowing to me. LeFranc's show was a hit amongst both fans and critics, awakening a desire among audiences for more Oz Cobb.
So what's in store for ol' Oz in the upcoming film, The Batman: Part II? Not much, according to Colin Farrell. Speaking to Deadline, Farrell said, "I haven’t got much to do on it, just a little bit. I read the script and it’s extraordinary."
However, if we've learned anything from Colin Farrell's acting abilities, particularly in the role of Oz, we know that the guy doesn't need a whole lot of material to leave a strong impression on us. From the impressive prosthetic makeup that had my mother shocked beyond words that she was looking at Colin Farrell, to the character's lumbering gait, to Farrell's ability to normalize a slightly over-the-top accent by delivering his lines in a naturalistic way, The Penguin from Matt Reeves's Batman movies became iconic the instant he hit the screen.
The Batman: Part II will hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
Batman is the most well-known superhero in the world — surprisingly, given how much he loves hanging out in the dark. But between his comics, TV shows, movies, games, and more, DC's Dark Knight is the hero this city/country/world/universe needs, and we have all you need to enjoy him even more:
