One Superman actor is out there reading all the mean stuff you wrote on the internet, but director and DC Studios CEO James Gunn isn't saying who
Our money is on Jimmy Olsen's actor because, well, that's the kind of thing Jimmy would do

It is very easy to sit behind a keyboard and, after watching a trailer or image or whatever, put a mean comment on it. It seems fairly harmless, in fact – it isn’t like the people involved are ever going to read it, right? In the case of the upcoming Superman movie, that isn’t the case as, according to director and DC Studios CEO James Gunn, there is one Superman actor who reads all your angry comments and takes them to heart.
“I have one actor who reads everything online,” James Gunn explained during a recent interview. “I won’t say who it is, but he’ll read this article, and he’ll know who it is. It’s one of the top five in Superman. And this actor gets so upset over things that people say. I said, ‘First of all, you realize that the trailer came out and [reaction] was 97, 98 percent positive. These people help us because you don’t want everything to seem 100 percent positive.’ It’s alright to have an opposing force once in a while.”
James Gunn goes out of his way to not name this actor, though he drops two important hints. One is that it is a top-five billed actor in Superman, which certainly narrows it down. He also uses that male pronoun in the interview, which eliminates Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. He also later on says, “It’s a hundred percent not David [Corenswet]. David is Superman. He’s not a normal person.”
That leaves only a few actors it could be. Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor could be the one reading your angry reactions on social media, but our money is actually on Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen simply because it sounds like a very Jimmy thing to do.
Maybe eventually we’ll find out but, for now, the identity of the Superman actor who is upset that you complained about Krypto is a secret only James Gunn knows, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t feel any less bad about it.
