Fans longing to be amongst the first to see the cinematic rebirth of DC’s Man of Steel will have their chance to fly to the world premiere of James Gunn’s Superman — providing, of course, their luck holds and they make it to their local comic book store in time. The key to this entire thing? Why, Krypto the Super-Dog, of course.

On June 18, DC will release a special reprint of the comic book that introduced Krypto to the world: 1955’s Adventure Comics #210, featuring the story ‘The Superdog from Krypton’ by Otto Binder and Curt Swan. The issue also features other stories with art by Metamorpho co-creator Ramon Fradon and classic Superman artist George Papp; it’s a great comic book in and of itself, but there are two significant differences between the 1955 original edition and the 2025 reprint: firstly, the new edition will reach stores inside a sealed polybag. More importantly, there’s the reason for that polybag’s existence — something called ‘Krypto’s Golden Biscuit.’

Those of you getting Willy Wonka vibes, you’re on the right track.

Those who discover Krypto’s Golden Biscuit will have the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes contest, the winners of which will be invited to attend the world premiere of Superman in Los Angeles in July, alongside writer/director James Gunn and the stars of the movie. (There is, of course, a significant amount of legal jargon surrounding the rules of this sweepstakes; you can find it all here.)

Here’s the important things to know, though; the reprint of Adventure Comics #210 will arrive in comic book stores June 18 — it can be preordered right now if you’re worried about missing out — and there’s just one week from that date that the sweepstakes remains open; that’s right — anyone hoping to enter will only have until June 25 to pick up their copy and enter the contest.

The rest of us? We’ll have to wait until July 11, when the movie arrives in theaters across the US. Krypto thinks it’s worth the wait.
