Is the Supergirl teaser trailer already teasing a Man of Tomorrow connection? Because our Brainiac senses are tingling

Is it just me, or did DC Studios' Supergirl teaser (out now) straight up show us Kandor being bottled? Because if so, you know who's gonna be super interested in that? An alien who collects bottled cities

You can cancel your trip to Times Square - the Supergirl teaser trailer is online now. And believe it or not, our first look at the second DCU movie may hint at the third chapter of James Gunn's Superman saga. Apologies for all the math there, but we're almost positive that, even this early on, the Supergirl marketing is already tying in to what will eventually be the plot of the Superman/Lex Luthor team-up movie Man of Tomorrow, because we'd bet superdollars to superdonuts that this brief trailer gave us a look at the city of Kandor.

We'll explain what we mean in a sec, but first, check out the trailer for yourself.

I gotta say - t's great to see our pal Krypto again, urine soaked though he may be. But let's get back to the matter at hand. At the 0:57 mark of the trailer, we bear witness to what can only be the destruction of Krypton, along with what appears to be an entire city coming under some sort of protective bubble. Even if you're only semi-familiar with DC Comics lore, your mind would probably go to this being a depiction of Kandor - one city that was preserved from its planets utter demolition and eventually and will eventually attract the attention of one Brainiac.

Brainiac is, of course, the alien that collects microcosms of entire civilizations throughout DC Comics history, and the already-promised villain of Gunn's Man of Tomorrow. Don't mistake our meaning here - we're not guaranteeing that the green world-ender will appear in Supergirl (although we won't be in the bathroom during the post-credits, just in case), but with Kandor and his character being so intricately linked in the comics, it's fair to at least guess that thsi film is setting up his eventual storyline.

But hey, that's still years away, right? First, we're desperate to know how Kara Zor-El gets out of this mess she's clearly in, and what she'll do when confronted by Jason Momoa's breathtakingly comic-accurate Lobo. What's that? You want to see a picture? Well OK, but only since you asked so nicely.

Supergirl soars into theaters June 26, 2026. Man of Tomorrow, meanwhile, won't be taking flight until July 9, 2027.
