Supergirl flies into trouble in the first teaser for her 2026 DC Studios movie
The first look at 2026's next big DC Studios movie has arrived, and Supergirl might not be what audiences were expecting from Superman's cousin

- Critical Role Campaign 4 has "contingency episodes" in case the story goes long, says Marisha Ray

But what would her cousin say?!? After her debut in summer 2025’s Superman, fans have been given their first glimpse of what to expect from Milly Alcock’s take on Supergirl with the release of the first teaser for next summer’s movie of the same name, and… well, let’s just say that it’s showcasing a different kind of punk rock than the cozier version Superman was a proponent of. (And we're not just talking about the Blondie needle drop, but we're happy to hear it.)
Even as a teaser, it's a fun introduction to the new Kara, who offers up her own explanation as to what makes her different from her more famous cousin: "He sees the good in everyone. And I see the truth." (Well, the truth as she sees it, at least.) And, look! There's Lobo in a blink-and-you'll-miss-him debut! The summer of 2026 feels a little too far away right now, after watching this.
Take a look for yourself below.
Written by Ana Nogueira (and inspired by Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s acclaimed Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic book series) and directed by I, Tonya, and Cruella’s Craig Gillespie, Supergirl stars Alcock as the titular character alongside Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Mattias Schoenaerts and Krem of the Yellow Hills, and — of course — Jason Momoa, making his debut as fan-favorite bounty hunter and self-styled main man Lobo.
Supergirl will be released June 26, 2026.
