Jake Johnson wants his own Spider-Verse spin-off about Peter B. Parker getting to be the Spider-Man we know he could be
I mean, Spider-Noir and Spider-Punk are both getting their own Spider-Verse spinoffs. Why can't the most sweatpantsed of the Spider Society join them?

If you’re anything like me, you know the best Peter Parker is as much Spider-Dad as he is Spider-Man. Well to those of us that hold that opinion, we’ve got good news. Jake Johnson, voice of the bathrobe-wearing, spit-up-covered charmer Peter B. Parker from Sony’s Spider-Verse movies would like to see more from his character… in the form of a spin-off.
Johnson made the comments in a recent interview he did with The Playlist's Bingeworthy Podcast, hosted by Mike DeAngelo. On the subject of the next appearance of his Peter B. Parker, that is, Sony's Beyond the Spider-Verse, the Minx actor says, "there’s some stuff in there and some sequences that I think are going to blow people away. And I know people are going to love it." But does that mean he's done with the character? Oh no. In fact, it's his own status as a father that makes him want to keep exploring the character.
"Once you have kids and you enter that phase of life," Johnson says, "That doesn’t mean you’re dead. You might be entering an unthinkably strong period of your life. And so I hope Peter’s honored in that way. And the future that goes on for him, if it does, I want to see my Spider-Man being Spider-Man.
"I know it’s hard with anything that involves Peter Parker," he admits, probably referencing the Sony/Marvel deal to put the OF Spider-Man on the big screen, "So I know, you know, like Spider-Noir that looks so good. I’m very excited for Lamorne Morris on that. But I think anything with Peter B. is a little bit trickier. But if they crack the code, I’d love to do it."
We'd love that too, Jake. Hell, we'd love to see you and Lamorne's Spider-Noir character share some Spider-Verse screentime. So long as you bring Schmidt along too.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set for release June 18, 2027.
