Expect to see Tom Holland in IMAX in 2026 - just not in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey seems to have snatched up all the IMAX theaters that Spider-Man: Brand New Day might've played in. A bittersweet day for Tom Holland fans

What will be the biggest movie of 2026? In terms of literal size, it won't be Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Don't get us wrong, we still expect the next outing for Tom Holland's Peter Parker to make an absolute boatload of money. It's just that, in terms of sheer screensize, the fourth MCU Spidey adventure won't be up at the top, as recent reports suggest it will be skipping its once-planned IMAX run. And what's even more interesting - it seems to have been edged out by a different Tom Holland movie.
The report comes from M9 News, in an article published November 2. According to the outlet, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey will be taking up so many IMAX theaters upon its release July 17, that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios has chosen not to pursue an IMAX run for Brand New Day, which comes out two weeks later.
In an era of Marvel movie domination, it's hard to imagine any project pushing out a film set firmly within the MCU, especially one that links to a franchise that's gotten to its fourth installation. However, unlike Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Nolan's Odyssey is said to be specially filmed for the IMAX experience, which could explain much of the Studio's decision to take a step back.
In case you don't know, Nolan's Odyssey will see Tom Holland play the character Telemachus, who is the son of central character Odysseus, played by Matt Damon. Holland will also be starring in the film alongside Jon Bernthal, who will also be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Frank Castle AKA The Punisher.
I guess it's nice to know that these the larger-than-life actors will get their larger-than-life screentime in 2026, even if it comes from the place you wouldn't expect.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day comes to (non-IMAX) theaters July 31, 2026.
