Skeet Ulrich prepared for his role in Scream by watching Faces of Death and filling his hotel with blacklights

When Skeet Ulrich prepares for a role, he goes all out. This includes redecorating his room.
When Skeet Ulrich was cast as Billy Loomis for the original 1996 Scream film, the actor worked hard to get himself into the mindset of a serial killer. “For me, there was a lot of research about serial killers, the mentality,” Ulrich says during a panel at GalaxyCon San Jose. “At the hotel we stayed at the entire time, we had a bedroom and a suite, another room. And I made that other room Billy Loomis’s high school bedroom. And so, I would watch Faces of Death all day and read about serial killers.”
“I went to the mall, and I bought all these blacklight posters and blacklights, and really just did this room up. I would just go and sit in there and do research, work on material, learn lines, and then the trick of it was to fool everyone. You have all this mentality, but you can’t show it. He has to just be another kid until the moment.”
Ulrich, if you have any pictures of your serial killer room, can you post them on social media? I need to see some of those retro blacklight posters.
