Arnold Schwarzenegger thinks Predator is bigger than Terminator - and he wants more

We all want Arnie to "get to the chopper" and by "chopper" we mean "the recording studio" so we can find out what happens to Dutch after the original Predator movie.

With a career that has spanned decades, there is no shortage of great Arnold Schwarzenegger quotes to think of. However, Arnie himself thinks one of his roles has become his most iconic and quotable, and it isn’t Terminator. No, that honor belongs to Predator, and Schwarzenegger is eager to get back to the franchise.

During an interview with Empire Magazine, Dan Trachtenberg, the director of Prey and the upcoming Predator: Badlands, explained that he knows how closely Arnie’s legacy is tied to the Predator franchise because the actor told him himself. “I met Arnold, and he said, ‘You think I get ‘I’ll be back,’ yelled at me most, but it’s actually ‘Get to the chopper!’ So he’s well aware of the franchise’s staying power.”

Personally, we would have expected “It’s not a tumor” to be the most shouted Arnold Schwarzenegger quote, but we’re happy to be wrong on that one.

Schwarzenegger isn't entirely looking to the past when he's thinking about Predator; summer 2025's animated Predator: Killer of Killers ended with an unexpected cameo from Dutch Schaefer, his character in the 1987 movie, captured by the Predators and held in suspended animation alongside Predator 2's Mike Harrigan and Prey's Naru.

His awareness of Predator’s legacy (and current status) as a franchise means that Schwarzenegger has told Trachtenberg that he’s up to return. “He was excited to talk about what else we could do [following the Dutch reveal at the end of Killer of Killers]. Because there’s so much more story to tell now – you could tell how [Dutch and Naru] were captured, or what happens when they’re de-iced. Many possibilities.”

Possibilities don’t mean certainties, of course, so there is no guarantee that we’ll see the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger to the Predator franchise. However, if fans keep shouting that specific quote at him, maybe it could happen. You know what to do now.
