Several members of the cast and crew of the upcoming Mortal Kombat II movie attended New York Comic Con 2025, where they had the chance to sit down for a chat with Popverse’s Ashley V. Robinson. Slated for release in May 2026, everyone is already talking about the upcoming adaptation of the beloved video game. And now, several cast members have revealed which one of their casemates they’d most like to fight.
Joining Robinson in the studio were cast members Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle and Martyn Ford, writer Jeremy Slater, director Simon McQuoid and Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon. Robinson asked, “I don’t want to lunge right into spoilers, so just talking hypothetically, which one of your cast mates would you most like to share an epic fight with?”
Gabrielle answered, “Lewis Tan.” Karl Urban said, “Max Huang.”
“I think, just purely for competition, all at the same time,” said Ford. “I’d love to see that, I really want to see that,” Garielle responded.
“Joe Taslim,” Rudolph initially answered. But realizing the question was about who they wanted to fight against, not beside, Rudolph updated her answer: “No, I would die. Nobody.”
Robinson pointed out that none of the cast members had chosen someone currently present, thus avoiding an immediate fight. But Gabrielle said she was up for the challenge. However, when presented with the notion of fighting Ford, she balked: “I know my limits.”
