Marvel's Kevin Feige talked to John Boyega about who he'd play in the MCU, but "there ain't no room for me," says the Star Wars star

He's a fan of Marvel, but he can't see himself in the MCU - although he'd be open to playing X-Men character Bishop if the opportunity came up

John Boyega has starred in a Star Wars trilogy. Could a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe be next?

Don’t hold your breath. When asked about a possible role in Marvel, the actor said the franchise is too crowded for him. Speaking to a crowd at the John Boyega: The Force of Talent panel at C2E2 2025, the actor referenced the recent Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal.  “Did you guys see the Marvel announcement the other day? I think they’re very busy.”

“There ain’t no room for me,” Boyega continues. “I can’t wait to watch it. I think with Marvel and everything, after Endgame I was like, wow, how are they going to expand the universe after saving the universe. I have sat down with Kevin Feige, I’ve been over to those guys, but I’m just going to enjoy it for now, because there’s a lot going on. I’m looking forwarding to watching it.”

During the question-and-answer portion of the panel, Boyega was asked what Marvel hero he would like to play. His answer revealed some interesting details. “Kevin Feige asked me the same thing. I was just there like, I don’t know. Maybe I need more ambition or something.”

Reading between the lines, it seems like the head of Marvel Studios asked John Boyega if there were any Marvel roles he liked, which is insane! However, Boyega maintains that he prefers watching the films from the sidelines.

“I’ve been watching Marvel from the beginning, so Endgame was like the crescendo for me. I want to know what they’re going to establish with this new universe, with Robert Downey Jr. coming back as Doom. How are they going to pull this off? Maybe I’ll have more of an idea once they come back and establish.”

One fan yelled out the name Bishop, which got Boyega’s attention. “Bishop. Nice one. You need me as a client or something? Maybe Bishop, you’ll never know.”
