What's there not to love about Laura Dern? Between films like Jurassic Park, Marriage Story, Blue Velvet, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Laura Dern has consistently made an impact onscreen. Now, the actress will star in a romance film for Netflix entitled Lonely Planet, where she will a newly single writer on a retreat in Morocco. She will be joined by Liam Hemsworth, who plays her love interest in the film.

Luckily for those of us who love Dern's work, Lonely Planet releases on October 11, 2024. There is currently a trailer for the film on Netflix's website, revealing essential elements of the film's story. For instance, Liam Hemsworth's character is in Morocco accompanying his girlfriend, giving an unexpected twist to the romance that he develops with Laura Dern's character. We love a bit of intrigue.

Given that Dern's other major Netflix film is Marriage Story, let's hope that her love story in Lonely Planet goes over better than the one featured in Noah Baumbach's Oscar-winning film. Dern won both the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as a divorce lawyer in Marriage Story. It only is a matter of time before we see if Dern's role in Lonely Planet will connect with audiences like in Marriage Story.

Lonely Planet will release on October 11, 2024 on Netflix.
