Jurassic World Rebirth remembers that the core appeal of the franchise should be a regular family that doesn't want to be eaten by dinosaurs
It's two weeks until the next Jurassic movie, so long past time to meet the Delgado family

It’s not a Jurassic movie without an innocent family in danger of dino-death at any moment — but much of the promotional efforts for the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth has focused on Scarlett Johansson’s Zora Bennett and her band of professionals sent on a mission to retrieve dinosaur DNA. With the movie in theaters in less than two weeks, it’s time to finally meet the other human half of the equation — the potentially doomed Delgado family.
In a new promotional video from Universal Pictures titled, fittingly, ‘Meet the Delgados,’ we don’t just get to meet Rueben Delgado (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) and his family, we also get to find out just what they’re doing on what is supposed to be a purposefully unknown island filled with misfit dinosaurs in the first place. “They are just an innocent family not prepared for what’s about to go down,” laughs Luna Blaise, who plays Teresa Delgado — but isn’t that exactly what we want from a Jurassic Park/World movie, really…?
“To see a family who is just surviving is brilliant,” says Jonathan Bailey (Dr. Henry Loomis in the movie), and he’s right… but to see a family who is also utterly terrified at the prospect of imminent death at the teeth, claws or feet of a giant dinosaur is even better.
Jurassic World Rebirth opens July 2. Watch ‘Meet the Delgados’ below.
