In the world of kaiju movies, no star shines bigger or brighter than Godzilla, so what better way to celebrate him than showing him off in the brightest city on the planet? Godzilla Minus Zero, the next instalment in the iconic franchise from Toho, is coming to Las Vegas this April with world premiere footage at CinemaCon ahead of its November 2026 theatrical premiere.
The sequel to Godzilla Minus One, which won the 2023 Oscar for Best Visual Effects, will form part of the opening presentation of CinemaCon. The annual convention of movie theater owners and film studios runs from April 13-16, 2026 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and is often a place where studios show off their biggest projects. GKids, who are handling the international distribution of Godzilla Minus Zero, will join in the spectacle by showing the very first footage of the film during the convention’s State of the Industry opening presentation.
Unlike most movies from Japan, which have a long delay before being released overseas, Godzilla Minus Zero will be released in North America on November 6, 2026, just three days after the Japanese release. “We are longtime champions of the importance of the shared theatrical experience,” explained David Jesteadt, the GKids president. “We believe there’s no better place to kick off [Takashi] Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus Zero than at Cinema Con with the folks who present that movie magic on the big screen: the cinema owners.”
Toho and GKids have kaiju-sized expectations for Godzilla Minus Zero after the first film was received so well by both fans and critics, so they’re hoping that the glitz and glamor of Las Vegas will help showcase what makes Godzilla such an enduring figure in global cinema.
