Matthew Lillard is excited for a third Five Nights at Freddy's movie - but says Blumhouse is waiting to greenlight it until FNAF 2 becomes the success they all think it will be

Matthew Lillard says if we want to see FNAF 3, we have to support FNAF 2 in theaters

Do you want to see Five Nights at Freddy’s 3?

Well hold your horses, because the second one isn’t even in theaters yet. However, Matthew Lillard, who plays William Afton in FNAF movies, says that if enough of us support FNAF 2, then FNAF 3 is all but guaranteed.

“Here’s the best news. You want to know the best news,” Lillard teases during a New York Comic Con 2025 panel. “This movie comes out in December. If it’s a hit, or should I say, when it’s a hit, they will make the third film.”

This caused the audience to cheer. Now that he had them in the palm of his hand, Lillard gave them the call to action.

“It is up to you to get the third film. But here’s the best part about the third film. Does anyone know what happens in the third game? Mano a mano.”

If that doesn’t get butts in the seats for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, I don’t know what will. Well FNAF fans, you heard Mr. Afton. Don’t wait until this one is on streaming or DVD, otherwise we might not see FNAF 3.

Five Night’s at Freddy’s 2 hits theaters on December 5.
