We finally meet MCU's Silver Surfer, and she brings a new attitude with latest The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer
Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards leads a team of heroes that... well, act like old-school heroes in Marvel's retro Fantastic Four: First Steps

What does the future of the MCU look like? It looks a lot like the '60s — but with more heart, more hope, and more Silver Surfer than ever before. The new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been released, and it lays out the scope of Matt Shakman’s reboot of Marvel’s first family very handily.
What stands out in the new trailer — beyond the chance to see Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer in full for the first time — is the attitude that’s prevalent throughout the whole thing. Unlike other Marvel movies (Thunderbolts* being a prime example), these heroes face what looks to be certain doom with an attitude that’s resolute, determined, and optimistic. Even as Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) admits that he doesn’t know what’s happening, he still promises the world that the FF will keep everyone safe with a sincerity and lack of comedy that feels removed from the more sarcastic, unsure MCU that fans have come to know and love.
The retro feel of the movie, in other words, extends beyond just the visuals. (And the music — that “Fantastic Foooooo-uuuuuurrrr” choral score already feels iconic, after just two trailers.)

The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens July 25.
