Steven Spielberg believes that not only are aliens real, they may already be on Earth
Why aliens are real, and may already be on Earth, according to E.T. director Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg has been around all kinds of aliens. He directed Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which gave us curious aliens who communicate through music. E.T. showed us that aliens could be our best friends, while War of the Worlds showed us they could be our worst enemies. But these were all fictional movie aliens. Spielberg hasn’t encountered any real ones – well, as far as he knows. However, the director believes that they’re out there, and they may already be on Earth.
“I’ve always believed, even as a kid, that we were not alone. That just goes without saying,” Steven Spielberg revealed during an interview with The Big Picture’s Sean Fennessey. “The big question is, are we alone now? And have we been alone over the last 80 years? And really, have we been alone over the last 3,000 years? I mean, you’ve got to go back to Von Daniken to be able to go into those theories.”
In the end, Spielberg admits it’s all speculation, but he trusts his gut. “I don’t know any more than any of you do, but I have a strong sneaking suspicion that we are not alone here on Earth right now,” he continued. “And I made a movie about that.”
If you're thinking that you'd like to see that movie, good news. Spielberg is referring to Disclosure Day, his upcoming film about a whistleblower revealing the existence of alien life. From the looks of it, things will be a bit more intense than E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial - but perhaps all of the aliens already on Earth have made things so nice for us that we're going to be wrong about that.
Disclosure Day is in theaters June 12.
