Deadpool & Wolverine is a movie built on surprises - and inauguably the most irreverent movie Marvel Studios has done to date... and that's before even mentioning it being Marvel's first R-rated movie. But in an interview with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, we're picking up on the tease of a surprise for even more than we expect from the movie.
In an interview aired during the June 26 edition of the Official Marvel Podcast, Feige says Deadpool & Wolverine is the convergence of a lot of dreams - and also teases "different worlds" and "different flavors" that even those of us who have seen the trailers, posters, and reports aren't prepared for.
"It's so many dreams coming true at once," says Feige. "It's the dream of Ryan and Hugh together as those characters. They've developed a friendship in real life, in this very fun rivalry on social media over the last decade or more. So just seeing them together in a movie is going to be amazing. And then seeing them interact with TVA agents [as introduced in Disney+'s Loki series] is a thrill, so the combination of all those different worlds and all those different flavors, and perhaps even more that people won't know until they see the movie. It's a thrill."

I'll repeat that one bit: "... perhaps even more that people won't know until they see the movie."
Professor X's sister Cassandra Nova is already confirmed for Deadpool & Wolverine (to be played by Emma Corrin), and the Hollywood Reporter says multiple sources have confirmed Jennifer Garner has reprised her role as Elektra for the film. Marvel reads THR, so he'd have to mean someone else... right?
Feige doesn't give any more details than that, but does say the film is one that bears watching a second time, saying "I think people are going to leave excited to turn around and go watch it again."
Deadpool & Wolverine opens worldwide on July 26, 2024. Buy tickets on Fandango or Atom Tickets.
