Warner Bros. wants a Beetlejuice 3, but Tim Burton says he doesn't know anything about it
Tim Burton reckons he will be 105 by the time the Beetlejuice 3 gets made, which sounds like a lot to ask.

The news that a third Beetlejuice movie was in the works was exciting to pretty much everyone, but it was perhaps most surprising for Tim Burton. Both of the previous films relied heavily on the director’s weird but accessible style, but, when asked, Burton claimed he didn’t know anything about Beetlejuice 3 entering production.
The original Beetlejuice movie came out in 1988 and became a decent hit for both Tim Burton as director and Warner Bros. Still, despite the original becoming a financial success, a sequel didn’t come out until 2024. It went on to make more than $400 million at the global box office, so of course, Warner Bros. was eager to start production on a third film.
While promoting the upcoming second season of Wednesday for Netflix, Tim Burton was told about the news that a Warner Bros. executive implied that Beetlejuice 3 was in development. His reaction was less than promising for the movie.
“Really? Nobody told me,” he said. “Maybe I’ve been replaced.”
He elaborated on why fans shouldn’t hold out hope for Beetlejuice 3 – at least, not with him involved. “It took 35 years to make the second one, so by that time I’ll be 105. I know those odds are not good. I really, really enjoyed making this one, and [Warner Bros.] didn’t even really want to do it. We did it the same way I did the first one, with the actors doing improv. It was beautiful to see some of the old cast and have Jenna. But it’s like trying to re-create the Wednesday dance scene. I love the characters but I don’t necessarily see it.”
