Knives Out and Blade Runner 2049's Ana de Armas is the new John Wick in first Ballerina trailer

From the world of John Wick comes a new John Wick, but this one is in the mood for dancing (and killing). Ana de Armas is Ballerina

It’s not just John Wick who’s out for revenge — but the latest spin-off from the Wick franchise showcases a character audiences are already familiar with at a very different point in her life.

Ana de Arias plays Eve Macarro in Ballerina — or, to use its full title, From The World of John Wick: Ballerina — but she’s actually the second actress to take on the role; when audiences first met Eve in 2019’s Joh.n Wick Chapter 3 - Parabellum, she was played by Unity Phelan in a cameo intended to set up this very movie. The new feature is, in fact, set during Parabellum, and follows Eve as she begins her assassin training and hunts for the people responsible for the death of her family.

Alongside de Armas, the movie features appearances from franchise mainstays Ian McShane, Keanu Reeves, and Lance Reddick, with the latter making his final on-screen appearance in a posthumous release. Additionally, Angelica Huston, Norman Reedus, And Gabriel Byrne star in the movie. Directed by Len Wiseman, the movie was always going to live or die on the quality of its action sequences, so let’s shut up and let you take a look at the first trailer for the movie:

From The World of John Wick: Ballerina will be released June 6, 2025.
