Quelle surprise, quelle surprise, Channing Tatum's Ragin' Cajun, Gambit, has been announced as part of the ever-expanding cast of Avengers: Doomsday. He'll be joined by his fellow mutants played by Alan Cumming, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Tenoch Huerta Mejia.
Tatum's inclusion in Doomsday comes hot off the success of Deadpool and Wolverine last summer, where he finally got to play Gambit. In case you need a refresher, for years, a Gambit film starring Tatum languished in development hell. While there was a litany of cameos in Deadpool and Wolverine, we will admit that Tatum's Gambit looked great onscreen, particularly with how his psionic powers were represented.
At this point, it looks like just about everyone who played, or was supposed to play, a mutant in the first decade of the 2000s is set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. But stay in the loop with us here, because there's likely much more to be announced.
