Marvel Studios has convinced Russo brothers to return to direct Avengers 5 & 6

After trying other directors, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige ended up just asking the directors of the last two Avengers movies to do two more

Sometimes you got to stick with what works.

After years of attempting to find directors who could follow what Joe and Anthony Russo did in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios have gone back to the Russos and convinced them to return for two more.

"When we directed Avengers: Endgame, Joe and I really believed it was the end of the road for us in the Marvel Cinematic Universe," Anthony Russo says during Marvel Studios' Hall H panel at San DIego Comic-Con 2024. "That four movie run was incredible, and it left us creatively spent."

But the upcoming story had led them to return.

"It's the biggest story Marvel Comics have ever told."

The fifth Avengers movie, previously subtitled Kang Dynasty, has been revamped as Avengers: Doomsday, with Avengers: Secret Wars to follow.
