Oops! Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender movie character designs seem to have been leaked... by a shirt listing by Target

The new designs for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender look great, though we're sure Nickelodeon would rather they come out when they'd planned.

Marketing is a very carefully planned thing. Whole teams put thousands of dollars into trying to make sure that every announcement and reveal for a long-awaited show like the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movie happens at exactly the right moment. So, you can imagine our surprise when a major corporation like Target apparently leaks the new designs for grown-up Aang and his friends on a hastily revealed t-shirt.

This is what Avatar fans woke up to this morning: Target, in their infinite wisdom, set a new page on their site live, listing a t-shirt for the upcoming Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender movie. Now, we still don’t have many details about this film other than it will feature grown-up versions of the characters we fell in love with in the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series, so imagine everyone’s surprise when the new designs for the characters were plastered all over said t-shirt.

As of this writing, we haven’t seen anything from Nickelodeon or the production team for the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movie, which is expected to be released on Paramount+ in October this year, to confirm that these are indeed the designs for Aang, Katara, Zuko, Sokka, and Toph. However, the listing appears legitimate enough that we think this may have been a mistake by Target.

On the plus side, everyone looks very cool with their grown-up designs. It gives us hope that the movie will give them updated personalities to go with the new designs when Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender comes out on October 9, 2026 on Paramount+.
