But the release date for the second season of the anthology series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan is just around the corner. Here’s what we know about the release date for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
The first season of the true crime anthology series, DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, arrived for streaming on Netflix in 2022. Starring Evan Peters in the titular role, TUDUM reports that the first season was a record-breaking success, reaching one billion view hours in its first 60 days of release. Only three others series on the streamer have reached the milestone, including Squid Game and Stranger Things.
The show’s second season, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, centers on the high-profile 1990s case. It involves two brothers who murdered their parents in Beverly Hills on August 20, 1989 and the events that surrounding the disquieting killings. The two brothers were subsequently found guilty of first-degree murder, and both were sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.
And just like the first season, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story features a star-studded cast. Javier Bardem will play father Jose, while Chloë Sevigny stars as mother Kitty. Newcomers Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch will portray brothers Lyle and Erik. And Nathan Lane plays Dominick Dunne, an investigative journalist covering the trails for Vanity Fair.
