Hannibal’s Mads Mikkelsen would love to join The Walking Dead

It’s been 9 years since NBC’s Hannibal came to an end, but Mads Mikkelsen is still craving human flesh.

Well, not really…but Mikkelsen hopes that his next role gives him the opportunity for some human-eating fun. During a Hannibal lookback panel at New York City Comic Con, the actor was asked what other franchise he would like to join, and his answer was interesting.

“I’m a huge fan of zombies, and therefore Walking Dead,” Mikkelsen said. “I know it’s been running for a long time, and it would be repetitive, I guess. But there’s something cool about killing zombies. There’s also something really cool about being a zombie. So, I can’t make up my mind what I want to play.”

It was suggested that Mikkelsen could be a zombie hunter who turns into a zombie, but the actor wasn’t sure. “But do they survive for a long time? The zombies, do they have their own screen time,” Mikkelsen asked.

Fair question. Either way, The Walking Dead franchise continues to grow, so maybe there’s a place for Mikkelsen in an upcoming project. After all, he knows a thing or two about the dangers of flesh-eaters.
