The second season of Ahsoka is some distance away from debuting on Disney+, but Ahsoka Tano herself — or, at least, the actress who plays the character, Rosario Dawson — has some ideas for a very special episode that she really, really wants to happen.

At one point during her spotlight panel at Rose City Comic Con 2024, a fan was teeing up a question about her appearance in the 2005 movie version of musical Rent by saying, “I love female people of color in space, but I love them singing in musicals more,” prompting Dawson to interrupt, saying, “Why do you have to separate it? Why can’t we have both? Come on, Dave! Make the Star Wars musical! I saw them do it in Star Trek, and I was like, ‘can we just cross the streams, and have them sing at a space station or something?’ I mean, come on!”

She wasn’t willing to drop the idea, it turns out. In response to an entirely different question about her castmates in Ahsoka, she said, “If you’ve seen Death Proof, you know how well Mary [Elizabeth Winstead] songs, and Natasha [Liu Bordizzo] plays guitar and sings. Eman [Esfandi] does music and rocks as well. So, I don’t know, could there be a musical episode?”

We’re not saying we’re very into this idea, but… well, we’re very into this idea. Especially if it can feature cameo flashbacks from any other Star Wars actor who wants to get involved. I mean, Can anyone pretend they don’t want to see an all-singing, all-dancing Emperor? “Somehow, Palpatine jazz-handed.”
