All the big news, trailers, & surprises from NYCC 2024

Popverse is your pop culture bestie & backstage buddy, bringing you everything to do with NYCC 2024 all in one article

Popverse was there for all four days of New York Comic Con 2024, immersing ourselves in the pop culture party full of vendors, events, and celebrities from the worlds of comics, movies, TV, gaming, and more. If you couldn't make it (or are worried you missed something) click the link for our wall-to-wall coverage of the event.

New York Comic Con 2024 was an unstoppable juggernaut. We've seen the cast of Max's Creature Commandos take the stage, Star Trek beam in the casts of multiple shows, Mike Flanagan's horror heroes scare up a few laughs, the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 poster reveal, Spider-Man themed Magic: The Gathering deck, the possible return of What We Do in the Shadows' Jackie Daytona (yes, revealed right here in Noooo Yawk Citay), and even Josh Brolin talking about his interest in returning as MCU's Thanos. And that's not even vaguely all.

The problem with a show this packed, though, is that even if you're here, you can't possibly do everything. So Popverse, as your pop culture bestie and your backstage bud when it comes to ReedPop shows, has over a dozen people in and around the Javits Center all week: writing, filming, asking, and generally chasing the vibes and giving it all to you. For the firehose of it all go to our frontpage, but if you need some curation, we've still got you, because this article will do just that with the NYCC 2024 highlights.

But don't forget, we livestreamed the NYCC 2024 Main Stage and Empire Stage for free all weekend, and it'll soon be available on-demand exclusively for Popverse members. (Some of the earlier panels from this week are already available!)

The big comics news of NYCC 2024

DC has been killing it at NYCC 2024. As if the success of the DC All In relaunch (and the Absolute books in general) wasn't enough - we even got some new announcements of new All In and Absolute titles! - Jim Lee brought a bunch of friends to the show to announce a sequel to iconic storyline Hush, a new crossover with Godzilla and Kong, the return of the DC Vertigo line, and a James Gunn-approved comic book Peacemaker spin-off that is official DCU canon!

But that's not all! Marvel Comics kicked things off with news that Doctor Doom is taking over the Marvel Comics universe at their Next Big Thing panel, and then announced a new Daredevil miniseries onstage Saturday afternoon before bringing out Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio to talk about bringing ol' hornhead back to the screen. And we couldn't go without talking about Kid Cudi, who has joined the comics industry and talked about it on our biggest stage Thursday evening.

NYCC 2024 has brought it in a big way when it comes to comics, and we have been busy writing. Here are the highlights so far:

The big movie & TV news of NYCC 2024

If you talk to people in the know, they're all buzzing about Matt Berry's possible return as his other What We Do in the Shadows character Jackie Daytona. But that's just one of the many things that have occurred so far at NYCC 2024. Apple TV+'s Shrinking opened NYCC with Brett Goldstein and Jason Segel discussing the new season, which debuted this week. We also welcomed the casts of HBO's The Penguin and the upcoming Dune: Prophecy, and were treated to some new footage from both shows. The Russo Brothers brought their new film The Electric Stage to NYCC fans first, and the cast of Outlander reunited just after filming their last season. Highlights include:

You can watch replays of many of these panels on-demand anytime, anywhere here on Popverse. Here's our list of all the panels we're filming at NYCC 2024.

We're also doing our best to help you understand what it's like right here on the floor, by telling you the biggest things to see on the show floor, the busiest areas on that same floor, and how strange it is to go to unexpected off-site events. Oh, and a baby took their first steps during this trip, as well. It's kind of a big deal.

Does this all sound like a fun time? Why not enter our sweepstakes to win passes to next year's show, and start your planning for 2025? Sounds like the ideal thing to do, if you ask us. Here's to next October!
