Oni Press returns to its creator-owned roots in a big way in 2025

Oni unveiled an impressive list of talent working on all-new comic book series to launch beginning in Spring 2025

For the last year, it’s been clear that Oni Press has been concentrating on breaking new ground with established properties, whether it’s the best-selling EC Comics revival — which produced the highest single issue sales for the publisher in over a decade — or the https://www.thepopverse.com/biker-mice-from-mars-power-lords-and-robo-force-to-return-in-2024-from-nacelle-company-and-oni-press Nacelleverse line of comics featuring classic Saturday morning animated characters. At New York Comic Con 2024, however, the company’s president and publisher teased an ambitious return to Oni’s creator-owned roots.

Speaking to retailers during the Lunar Distribution event at the end of Wednesday’s Retailer Day programming in the Javits Center, Hunter Gorinson teased, “for the last couple of years, I’ve been working on building a war chest” of all-new series from a range of creators to launch in Spring 2025. What creators, you ask? Why, we have a graphic for that, courtesy of Oni:

There are some notable names on that list, including Patrick Horvath, who’ll be following up his acclaimed Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees with the new Oni project. Additionally, Justin Jordan’s new project was teased by Gorinson as being “darker than he’s been in some time,” while Tyler Crook’s project will be his first fully painted interiors for some time, Gorinson said.

Details about each of the new series will be revealed in the coming months.
