NYCC 2025, George R.R. Martin, Absolute Batman, and more: Popverse plans for October 2025

A personal letter from Popverse boss Chris Arrant on all we're doing in October, including (but not limited to) New York Comic Con 2025.

I've been covering New York Comic Con for a long time. I was part of the official news partner of NYCC during its launch in 2006, and now here I am in charge of a year-round pop culture outlet that is part of NYCC (and other shows, of course). The convention has grown immensely, and seeing it from the inside - as I have since Popverse launched in 2022 - I can let you in on a secret: it's just as energetic backstage as it is on the show floor, in those panel rooms, and on the main walkways.

Sometimes, even more so. I could tell you stories about celebrity encounters, happy accidents, spectacular incidents, and back stories on the real story behind some of the big pop culture stories that have sprung out of New York Comic Con.

As the largest convention in North America, a lot is happening this year at NYCC - and Popverse is once again going to show you as much as we can. Our full staff (along with some extremely talented guest stars coming with us) will be at New York Comic Con 2025: on the floor, in the skyboxes, inside those panel rooms (sometimes on stage), and scurrying through the public (and private) hallways to bring you the big news, the big personalities, and the big excitement we'll be seeing over five days in the Javits Center.

Like always, Popverse will be filming and livestreaming panels from the two biggest stages - the Main Stage and the Empire Stage. We'll be airing those as part of a free livestream across our platforms, and then adding them later this year to our ever-growing archive of panels filmed at NYCC and other shows going back years. Some of the NYCC 2025 panels we plan on livestreaming are:

  • Critical Role & Prime Video: A Decade of Adventure and The Animated World of Exandria
  • Paramount Pictures presents The Running Man
  • Toei Animation Presents: ONE PIECE Panel
  • Probably the Best Invincible Panel in the History of Invincible Panels
  • Blumfest 2025
  • Prime Video's Hazbin Hotel
  • ... and more!

We will also be filming additional panels beyond just those two stages, and making those available later this year exclusively for Popverse members.

Speaking of panels, Popverse will be taking over one of the NYCC panel rooms on Sunday, October 12. That's right, we're doing a proverbial Popverse pop-up Sunday in room 406.1, hosting four panels with our crew and celebrity talent.

  • 11:45 am Enter the Popverse, a star-studded but secret panel exclusive to Popverse members
  • 1:15 pm Deconstructing Daredevil: Rage, Violence, and the 1980s with our special guest Ann Nocenti
  • 2:45pm Popversations with to-be-announced guest and our host, Ashley V. Robinson
  • 4:00pm Popversus: Comic writers vs. Comic artists with Tom King and Mitch Gerads

We will also be having two interview suites at New York Comic Con 2025. In those places, we'll be interviewing Martin Sheen, The Babysitters Club author Ann M. Martin, Eliot Page, Tatiana Maslany, Absolute Batman's Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, Vincent D'Onofrio, Steve Burns of Blue's Clues fame, as well as the casts of HBO's Game of Thrones spinoff  Knights of the Seven Kingdoms, Hazbin Hotel, Anne Rice's Talamasca, Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Bob's Burgers, Mortal Kombat II, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and more.

We'll also have reporters in some of the big panels this weekend, delivering you the big news and comments made on those stages and liveblogging several of the big DC and Marvel panels, including Marvel Studios' highly anticipated 'Up next from Marvel Television and Marvel Animation.'

But wait, there's more...

In addition to New York Comic Con 2025, we'll be writing and filming all month long on the big news, the weird news, and the 'is this real?' news that's happening even outside of the Javits Center. If that wasn't enough, we'll also have people at San Antonio's SpaceCon and London's MCM Comic Con later in October.

The best way to make sure you don't miss any of this is to sign up now for Popverse's newsletter, or better yet, become a member so you don't miss out on everything coming from NYCC and Popverse in October.
