A regular highlight of San Diego Comic-Con every year is the Her Universe Fashion Show, and SDCC 2024 brought the 10th annual event to Southern California for an evening of amazing looks — lewks, even — and geek culture, as curated by founder Ashley Eckstein.
Popverse’s very own video producer Ashley Victoria Robinson was at the show, and she filed no less than three interviews from the event, which you can see below. The first, with Candice Miller, the winner of this year’s Audience Award, who talked about her experience at the show and her love of all things Dune:
Next, Ashley talked to Wes and Jen Jenkins; Wes won the Judges Award at the show, with Jen wearing the astonishing outfit inspired by their mothers’ Barbie doll collection. The two talk about the outfit, the inspiration, and what the Her Universe Fashion Show means to them, and the connections it’s provided throughout the years:
Finally, Ashley had the opportunity to speak to Hot Topic Merchandising SVP Robin Motts, who was one of the judges at this year’s Fashion Show. She talked about what makes for a successful Her Universe Fashion Show contestant in her eyes, as well as how important it is to be passionate about work at Hot Topic. Take a look:
