One of the finest things about superhero comic books are the fictional cities in which your favorite heroes operate. Sure, there’s Metropolis and Gotham City, but there’s also Coast City, Star City, Midway City, and countless other major metropolitan areas — and that’s just in the DC Universe alone! (Admittedly, the Marvel Universe tends to hew closer to real-life geography when it comes to the US, but they’ve also got entire fake European countries to make up for it. Shout out to my Latverian crew!)
With this in mind, our video producer Ashley Victoria Robinson wandered the busy Artists Alley area of San Diego Comic-Con 2024 as part of her Artist Alley Asks series to ask Jonboy Meyers (Spawn, Spider-Man), Erik Burnham (Ghostbusters, TMNT: Saturday Morning Adventures), Mirka Andolpho (Punchline, Mercy), Dustin Nguyen (Lil Gotham, Descender), video game artist David Tran, and Sean “Cheeks” Galloway Cheeks (Deadpool, Wolverine) one simple question: what fictional city would they want to live in? We won’t spoil their answers for you, but we will say this: Batman and Superman, you might have some strange and wonderful new citizens to protect sometime soon.
